"Several months ago we purchased the BLS Tutor Course from Interactive Resources in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and decided to test the system for approximately eight weeks. We worked with thirty individuals in a JTPA summer youth program, whose ages ranged from 16 through 21; most were either dropouts or out of school, and at least two grades behind in math and reading. Also, these youths came from economically disadvantaged homes receiving public assistance, many were pregnant or unwed mothers, and some had records of delinquency or a history of disruptive behavior in school.

All of the students received a pre and post TABE test to determine grade level functioning. The results were astonishing. Each student participated an average of 10 hours per week for eight weeks. Every student attained at least one grade level increase in math and/or reading; some attained increases as high as four grade levels. The average increase was 2.5 grade levels. I cannot tell you how pleased I am with the BLS Tutor Course. It obviously produces tremendous results if used properly. Furthermore, the management component of the system is excellent; the hard copy of the reports are easily read. They clearly reveal competencies attained, and would be most suitable for monitoring and auditing purposes.

Undoubtedly, I have become an active promoter of this system. You have created an outstanding product which I intend to have others examine, particularly those who have a need for a performance driven tool."
